Populous and SALFO design a visionary sports venue that blends history, innovation, and urban integration
PAOK FC has unveiled the concept and final design of the new PAOK FC Stadium in Thessaloniki. More than a sports venue, this ambitious project aims to become a cultural and civic landmark that redefines the fan experience and strengthens the connection with the city. The project is developed by SALFO, a project management company, in collaboration with Populous, a global leader in sports and entertainment architecture.

The stadium at the heart of the city
The new PAOK FC Stadium transforms the historic Toumba area into a vibrant urban hub. A green corridor crosses the site from north to south, connecting the stadium to the city and creating parks, plazas, and open spaces for social interaction.
The partial undergrounding of Kleanthous Street opens up pedestrian areas and creates a system of multi-level plazas that, outside of match days, function as dynamic public spaces.

PAOK Plaza: the gateway to the stadium
At the core of the project lies PAOK Plaza, a multifunctional space that includes the club’s museum, the official store, cafés, and bars. Designed as a lively public hub, this plaza merges the daily rhythm of Thessaloniki with the energy of sports events.

Concept: the eagle’s embrace
The design of the PAOK FC Stadium draws inspiration from the club’s emblem, the eagle, symbolizing strength and unity. Its dynamic lines reflect movement and energy, turning the stadium into a welcoming gesture towards fans and the city. The concept combines tradition and modernity, embodying the spirit and identity of PAOK.

A stand that amplifies passion
Inside, the stands are designed to recreate the legendary atmosphere of Toumba. A compact seating layout brings fans closer to the field, enhancing both intimacy and acoustics.
- West Stand: dedicated to premium hospitality areas, with skyboxes and exclusive services.
- Kop Stand: a modern reinterpretation of the historic Gate 4, home to the most passionate PAOK supporters

Identity, innovation, and community
The new PAOK FC Stadium honors the club’s legacy while embracing a future-oriented approach that blends architecture, technology, and urban planning. The project aims to become a civic landmark that strengthens the connection between sports, culture, and community. With its cutting-edge design and seamless integration into Thessaloniki’s urban fabric, it sets a new benchmark for sports venues in Greece.
