Bridging Art and Design: the new creative district in Rome

Ponte, Art and Design District transforms a historic neighborhood into a permanent hub for design, art, and craftsmanship

On September 18, Ponte, Art and Design District comes to life in the historic Ponte neighborhood of Rome, located between Piazza Navona and Castel Sant’Angelo. The district brings together design, contemporary art, craftsmanship, and antiques, creating a permanent network for culture and creativity. Promoted by the Roma Faber association with the support of Regione Lazio and Roma Capitale, the project unites 28 local excellences, leading design and architecture universities, as well as companies in the design and luxury hospitality sectors.

A key feature of the initiative is the permanent pedestrianization of Via dei Banchi Nuovi along its 200 meters, turning it into a cultural and social meeting place.

Celebrating Italian creativity and craftsmanship

The main goal of Ponte, Art and Design District is to highlight local creative excellence and build an active network through events, workshops, and cultural programs. Historic artisans and master craftsmen collaborate with new generations of designers, offering a unique model of urban regeneration based on creativity and participation.

A rich program of events

From September 18 to 24, the district hosts a full week of free events, including workshops, masterclasses, talks, and open studios. Throughout the year until July 2026, activities will continue with a monthly rhythm: ceramic, mosaic, goldsmithing, inlay, and restoration workshops, along with round tables on circular economy, urban regeneration, and technological innovation.

Live painting sessions, open studios, and collaborative urban labs will turn the neighborhood into an open-air creative platform, where art, design, and community come together.

A digital platform for the district

The identity of Ponte, Art and Design District extends online through a dedicated platform, www.pontedistrictroma.it. The website features video interviews, photo galleries, and updated information on the program of events, connecting the local network of creatives with an international audience.
