A project that blends craftsmanship, architecture, and nature in the heart of the Dolomites
Cortina d’Ampezzo is not just one of the world’s most iconic alpine destinations. It represents a living symbol of the Italian lifestyle, blending glamour, history, and nature in a rare equilibrium. Since the early 1900s, it has embodied an Italy rich in elegance, possibility, and charm.

Over the decades, sport, cinema, art, and design have transformed Cortina into an international icon. Today, it remains a cherished retreat throughout the year, offering breathtaking landscapes and a uniquely contemporary mountain spirit.
Chalet Henge: immersive design among the Dolomites
Nestled among fir trees and overlooking the majestic Tofane, Cinque Torri, and Cristallo peaks, Chalet Henge is a private space that perfectly balances human presence and natural surroundings. Designed by Paolo Tormena and Isabella Genovese, the project embodies the desire to experience the mountains authentically, with elegance and function.

Located within an exclusive private compound, the chalet is constructed from larch wood salvaged from the region’s traditional tabià, or old barns. The result is an architecture that breathes with the landscape—respecting its origins, yet reinterpreted with a contemporary eye.
A project of continuity and light
Isabella Genovese’s design approach revolves around a continuous dialogue between interior and exterior. Expansive windows flood the space with natural light from the Dolomites, while the spatial layout flows intuitively to encourage both sociability and privacy.

The heart of the chalet is a two-level living area, centered around a striking fireplace and framed by sweeping mountain views. The three luminous suites are designed to immerse guests in nature, with warm materials, rich textures, and a color palette inspired by the surrounding landscape.
Materials that tell a story
Every element of Chalet Henge reflects a dedication to research and authenticity. The materials—solid wood, local stone, hand-cast metals, fine leathers, and soft fabrics—are carefully selected to embody both the identity of the location and the Henge philosophy.

Some furnishings were custom-designed to adapt to different uses, seamlessly transitioning between leisure, work, and hospitality. Each piece is functional yet sculptural, becoming part of a cohesive visual and tactile narrative.
A private retreat where time flows naturally
Chalet Henge is more than a private residence. It is a contemporary statement on how design can connect with nature, respecting the spirit of place and elevating it through thoughtful intervention. In this space, imperfections become beauty, light becomes material, and the landscape becomes part of the home.

It’s a vision of well-being grounded in silence, honest materials, and shared moments. A luxury chalet in Cortina that redefines mountain living with authenticity and intention.
