Twelve artist-designed chandeliers transform Venice into an open-air gallery
From 21 November 2025 to 1 March 2026, the timeless artistry of Murano glass takes center stage in Piazza San Marco for the third edition of Murano Illumina il Mondo. Twelve internationally renowned artists and designers reinterpret the iconic Venetian chandelier, collaborating with Murano’s most prestigious glassmakers to create unique, site-specific works suspended between art, tradition, and innovation.

Light as a universal language
Promoted by the City of Venice and The Venice Glass Week, with the support of the Venice Rovigo Chamber of Commerce, this edition reaffirms Murano’s role as a global hub of creativity and experimentation.
Under the historic arches of the Procuratie Vecchie, twelve art chandeliers illuminate the square every evening, turning the world’s most beautiful living room into a poetic dialogue between past and present. Each creation embodies a fusion of contemporary vision and centuries-old craftsmanship, celebrating the evolving language of Venetian glass.

Twelve artists, twelve stories of light
Curated by a scientific committee of leading experts, the exhibition showcases twelve new works that explore the expressive potential of glass through form, texture, and emotion.
- Simone Crestani with Berengo Studio presents Primavera d’Oriente, a poetic balance between geometry and nature.
- Ru Xiao Fan, with Effetre and Seguso Gianni, creates Intérieur/Extérieur, a metaphor for freedom and courage.
- Joana Vasconcelos, again with Berengo Studio, unveils Cuore Infinito, a pulsating heart of light and emotion.
- Lucio Bubacco and Vetreria 3 Artistico Lampadari craft Musica Angelica, a majestic symphony of angels and glass.

- Michela Cattai and Simone Cenedese present Trama di Luce, shaped by the rhythms of tides and islands.
- F. Taylor Colantonio, with Signoretto Lampadari and Salvadore, imagines Pool of Light, a luminous vortex born from archival sketches and Venetian architecture.
- Luca Nichetto, with Barovier&Toso, merges craftsmanship and innovation in Profilo, a sleek reinterpretation of the classic chandelier.
- Massimo Micheluzzi, with Vetreria Anfora, creates Calamaro, a living glass organism echoing the fluidity of the sea.
