On March 23 and 24, Italian excellence meets top U.S. officials in the American capital. The focus of the 2026 edition: “Regeneration” as the engine of the new Made in Italy
Italian design returns to the spotlight in the heart of American power. On March 23, 2026, in the presence of the Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli, the fifth edition of Italian Design Week (IDW) opens in Washington DC. Organized by IMARK (led by Roberta Marcenaro Lyon) with the support of the Embassy of Italy, the kermesse transforms the U.S. capital into a laboratory of ideas between the White House and Capitol Hill, consolidating design as a strategic pillar of Italy-USA relations.

Mario Cucinella: Ambassador of the “Regenerative Economy”
This year’s core theme is “Regeneration,” and the exceptional Ambassador is none other than Mario Cucinella (founder of MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects). A visionary architect and pioneer of sustainability, Cucinella brings to Washington a concept of regeneration that goes beyond mere aesthetics to care for territories, relationships, and future skylines.
Engineering and Business: An Economic Engine Between Two Shores
IDW 2026 marks a strategic collaboration with OICE (the Association of Engineering, Architecture, and Technical-Economic Consultancy Organizations), highlighting how Italian genius is a fundamental technological partner for major American infrastructure plans. Witnessing this leadership is Alfredo Ingletti, the first Italian to head the World Federation of Engineering (FIDIC).

The 2026 Champions: The Elite of Know-How
During the event, several protagonists who best embody Italian excellence across various sectors will be honored:
- Architecture: Mario Cucinella (MCA Architects)
- Jewelry Design: Alessia Crivelli (Crivelli Gioielli)
- Fashion: Azzurra Morelli (Pellemoda)
- Interior Design: Carlotta de Bevilacqua (Artemide)
- Collaboration: Carla Migliardi (SINERGIE)
- Urban Regeneration: Valeria Lorenzelli (Progetto NEARRES)
IMARK: The Bridge Between Italy and the United States
Founded nearly 20 years ago, IMARK acts as a business accelerator in Washington, supporting Italian companies—from Ferrari to Gucci, and Leonardo to Ducati—in consolidating their presence in the U.S. market. Through Italian Design Week, Italian creativity merges with American innovation, creating unique business opportunities in sectors ranging from technology to agrifood.
