Mediterranean Aesthetics: EDIT Napoli’s Signature Design Takes Over Capri

From May 24 to July 12, 2026, the historic Villa Rosa in Anacapri transforms into an artist’s house, blending independent craftsmanship, world-renowned brands, and exclusive design talks

High up in the quiet hills of Anacapri—where the island’s rhythm slows down, offering an authentic escape from mass tourism—a brand-new dialogue between historic architecture and avant-garde design is taking shape. EDIT Napoli, the acclaimed platform promoting editorial and signature design worldwide, makes its debut on the iconic Blue Island with the project “Esclusivo|Inclusivo” (Exclusive|Inclusive).

Developed in collaboration with the Municipality of Anacapri and the Jumeirah Capri Palace, this summer initiative brings high-end manufacturing beyond the traditional borders of the Neapolitan fair (scheduled for October 2026), placing it within one of the most breathtaking and evocative settings in the Mediterranean.

Villa Rosa: A Historic Residence Reimagined Through Contemporary Design

The beating heart of the event is Villa Rosa, a stunning 19th-century residence located along the scenic path leading to Axel Munthe’s famous Villa San Michele. Recently restored by the Municipality of Anacapri as a cultural hub, the villa revives its original calling as an open space for arts and culture.

Under the expert curation of Domitilla Dardi and Emilia Petruccelli, the rooms of this historic mansion are coming alive once again. A curated selection of international designers and luxury brands—including Fornace Brioni x Galleria Kalpa, Poltronova, Forma&Cemento, Coralla Maiuri, and Jonathan Bocca—has transformed the space into a seamless domestic narrative. Fine porcelain, bespoke textiles, and innovative materials interact with the natural Mediterranean light and landscape, offering visitors a living, experiential environment rather than a static exhibition.

Where Luxury Hospitality Meets Independent Design Research

In recent years, EDIT Napoli has firmly established itself as a cornerstone of the independent design movement, evolving from a traditional trade fair into an ongoing platform for research and development. This forward-thinking vision perfectly aligns with the fair’s strategy: building synergies with high-profile luxury hotels to demonstrate how cutting-edge innovation can seamlessly integrate into the world of premium hospitality.

A prime example of this synergy is the partnership with the Jumeirah Capri Palace, a destination where fine art and luxury hospitality organically coexist. The hotel will showcase a selection of works from the Hybrida collection designed by Patricia Urquiola. Notably, Urquiola’s suites—alongside those designed by Giuliano Andrea Dell’Uva—already define a design language where interior curation is an essential part of the guest experience.

An Exclusive Lineup of Design Talks: From Allegra Hicks to Formafantasma

In addition to the exhibition layout, the Jumeirah Capri Palace will host a rich calendar of design talks and panels focused on the duality between the exclusivity of high craftsmanship and the inclusivity of contemporary storytelling.

Among the most anticipated events, two panel discussions stand out:

  • May 24: A talk featuring the renowned contemporary rug brand cc-tapis alongside artist and designer Allegra Hicks.
  • July 4: An exclusive in-depth conversation with the internationally acclaimed design duo Formafantasma.

With this summer initiative, EDIT Napoli‘s curatorial team successfully redefines the perception of Capri. The island is no longer just an elite destination for international lifestyle, but a temporary cultural capital capable of attracting a global audience passionate about cutting-edge research, contemporary art, and signature design.
