In February the first edition of the Courmayeur Design Week-end will open the town to design and architecture, with a program rich in installations, workshops and seminars
From 6 to 9 February 2020, the Municipality of Courmayeur will present the first edition of the Courmayeur Design Week-end. Italian and international architects, designers and experts will share the latest design and architecture trends in the shop windows and lounges of the hotels of the town. This natural setting, characterized by snow, mountains and ski runs, will provide the stage for the creativity of both students and professionals. There will also be installations, workshops and seminars on relevant professional and cultural issues, and new design ideas for working and wellness spaces, able to meet contemporary needs, will be presented.
Courmayeur Design Week-end: what to expect
Many events are scheduled for the first edition of the Courmayeur Design Week-end, including a coworking space, equipped with computers, plotters and HP Italia printers, where to experience the concept of SMART-working; an anthological exhibition of scale models titled “UFF…icio”, by School of Design of Politecnico di Milano, exploring the ongoing changes in contemporary workplaces; the skiCAD race to challenge the sports skills of Italian and international designers.

A collective exhibition of young artists and designers at Espace Grivel, in Courmayeur, will present works and projects illuminated by Delta Light solutions. Seminars, talks and interviews will alternate in the coworking area and the conference hall, with the participation of Bob Mac Neel-Rhinoceros, Wacom, Dropbox and Adobe. Finally, thanks to the collaboration of Skyway Monte Bianco, Michele De Lucchi will hold a conference about “Earth Stations” on the summit of Mont Blanc.
Courmayeur Design Week-end: stay tuned even when you are skiing!
Conference and seminars will be broadcast in live streaming on the social profiles of Design Week-end to allow anybody to participate even remotely.
