imm cologne, the first trade show of the year, opens its doors on Monday, 13 January 2020
The 2020 edition of imm cologne, the German furniture fair that opens the season of trade fairs, is back from 13 to 19 January. Here is a guide to the most important new features of this edition.
Starting from the 2020 edition, imm cologne focuses on a new challenge, the imm cologne 2030 innovation program. This new plan reorganizes the thematic areas and intends to establish a new relationship with buyers, also taking into account today’s different consumption needs.
A Home Hub for domestic settings
Home Hub is the new, debuting concept. Following the success of the Pure area, introduced to spotlight the high-end range, the new Home Hub collects all the proposals for the house, divided into three areas: Home Sleep, Home Scenes and Home Settings.
Home Sleep, hall 9, presents all the new products and concepts designed to ensure a good night’s rest. Here you can see the latest mattresses, sleep systems, box-spring beds and waterbeds, bedding and accessories.

Home Scenes hosts over 1,000 ideas of contemporary furnishing style. The companies in the Home Scenes segment are divided into halls 5.2, 6, 10.1 e 10.2 and grouped into “big stages” where the products are used in housing sets.
Finally, Home Settings, halls 4.1, 5.1, 5.1, 5.2, 7, 8, showcases the offering dedicated to young people who outfit their house for the first time and to transformable furniture for small spaces.
The Pure section hosts the best contemporary international design brands also in 2020. Pure Atmospheres and Pure Editions host beautiful settings including bathroom furnishings and lighting products. Moreover, it includes Das Haus, the ideal house, which this year has been designed by Spanish MUT Design studio from Valencia.

Finally, the exhibition “Let’s be smart – Smart Village” presents a new perspective on the digital world. This exhibition presents four living environments: Smart Home, Smart Residence, Smart Loft and Tiny Home. Through these four lifestyle settings, the exhibition wants to establish connections between the housing and the digital worlds.
Imm cologne is among the world’s leading furniture fairs; in 2019 over 150,000 people visited it, with 52% international traders, from 145 countries, and over 70% exhibitors coming from outside Germany.
