The 47th edition of CIFF, CIFF Guangzhou, which closed on March 31, recorded an impressive 20.7% increase in the number of visitors compared to 2019, the year before the pandemic. The fair, for a total of 8 days (4 for the first phase and 4 for the second), occupied an exhibition space of 750,000 sqm. Almost 4,000 exhibitors attracted 357,809 qualified trade visitors.

CIFF Guangzhou, China’s main furniture fair, gathers under the same roof the whole furniture industry, creating synergies between Chinese internal market and the international markets. Over the last year, CIFF has integrated the physical exhibition with the online CIFF Cloud platform and the CIFF mini APP. This integration has made it possible to make the collaboration between exhibitors and visitors increasingly profitable, while also paying special attention to foreign buyers who are currently unable to participate in CIFF.

The 20 design exhibitions and over 100 conferences organized by CIFF in collaboration with famous designers, market experts, design brands, media, trade associations and universities were valuable sources of inspiration. Moreover, they testified to the qualitative growth of Chinese products, increasingly appreciated. During this tough period, the success of the March 2021 edition of CIFF Guangzhou gives us a bit of confidence and hope for a quick return to normality.

In this context, among many events, the ‘Design Spring’ Contemporary Chinese Furniture Design Fair gathered more than 80 of China’s most influential furniture brands as well as hundreds of Chinese artists and designers.

The Design Dream Show (DDS) presented, under the theme ‘Pick up & Give Up’, seven different domestic scenes designed to improve life quality. The CMF Trend Lab perfectly interpreted the market trends in terms of colors, materials and surfaces, providing concrete indications of market demands.

‘2030+ International Future Office’, the exhibit organized by CIFF Guangzhou and China National Furniture Association, proposed the latest trends for the workplace. The result of the combination between multimedia aspects and new technologies is an environment capable of engaging all five senses, even at work. Prestigious brand such as Steelcase, Knoll, Lamex, K + N, Sitland, Cassina, Magis, Gan, Avarte, as well as Hettich, Nreal, and Dyson, collaborated in the project.

The Office Environment Theme Pavilion, focused on the themes ‘Youth · Vitality · Colour @ 2021’, investigated how choosing one’s occupation means choosing one’s dreams, stimulating the exploration of the demands of younger generations in the world of office life.

Lastly, CIFM/interzum guangzhou 2021 hosted the leading international brands for machinery, materials and semi-finished products. It provided the chance to discover the state of the art of the “technological heart” of the furniture industry.
