On 3-4 November 2021, ARCHITECT@WORK returns to MiCo-Milano Congressi and it will be also possible to participate online
ARCHITECT@WORK Milan 2021 will be held in person on November 3-4 at MiCo-Milano Congressi and it will be also possible to participate online. The two days’ networking event for architecture and building professionals will showcase new products from more than 180 exhibitors, selected by a technical committee of experts.
The exhibition area is just a part of the event as ARCHITECT@WORK also includes networking spaces and educational areas where it will be possible to exchange ideas and projects.
As usual, the event will also offer architects and interior designers content for professional update: 4 seminars allocating professional training credits, a materials exhibition, photo galleries, a bookshop. “Oxygen” is the focus chosen for the 2021 edition.
A new initiative for this year is A@W Digital, a virtual platform that will allow you to participate in the event remotely, not only on the days of the in-person event but also for the following two weeks.
Architect@Work: the seminars
The future of architecture
Wednesday, 3 November, 12:30
Speaker: Federico Delrosso – Federico Delrosso Architects
Title: Nurture future
Nurture future, nostalgia for a past that may not return is an opportunity to think about a better future. Nourishing the future through attention to the joy of living, the universal desire of every man and the only real purpose that a society can and must propose itself.
“Nurture future” is a multidisciplinary and critical debate open to all disciplines, which are invited to contribute to and/or share its principles, generating new contaminations at a time of opportunity and change. Nurturing all this will be the future.
During the seminar an overview of projects, installations and competitions focused on the themes of naturalistic architecture – a discipline that seeks well-being as a balance between human being, nature and city – will be proposed. The intention is to provide us with a reference tool that looks beyond the project, beyond architecture, to be used as a guideline for the design of the future.
Discover the circular economy at Architect@Work Milan 2019
Wednesday, 3 November, 15:30
Speaker: Alfonso Femia – Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia
Title: Architecture and generosity
Oxygen as a value of well-being and healthy living. In architectural terms, oxygen can be exchanged for space, and space for generosity. Global demographic growth, exodus from the countryside, gentrification, urban sprawl, housing deficit: these unquestionable phenomena have put frightening pressure on architecture. The need to build quickly, on a large scale and at low cost. Redemption comes through a process of responsibility and generous design. 2021 is generating a new vision.
Rethinking the workplace
Thursday, 4 November, 12:30
Speaker: Alessandro Adamo – Lombardini 22/Degw
Title: Re-thinking the space. The workplace that creates value.
The health crisis caused by Covid-19 has posed a global challenge. In our experience, clients are asking us to reflect on the future of the workplace.
Spaces – Technologies – Values – People.
What have been the impacts of the pandemic on the way organisations work and on office space?
What will the future of the office world be like after Covid-19?
As a new “smart” workplace, can residential spaces become an opportunity?
Architect Davide Ruzzon – Director TUNED – will speak as well:

Architect@Work Milan 2021: the city of the future
Thursday, 4 November, 15:30
Speaker: Architect Vittorio Grassi – Vittorio Grassi Architects
Title: The city of the future: between ecology, health and sociality
At ARCHITECT@WORK, Vittorio Grassi addresses the theme of “Oxygen” by talking about the great challenge of contemporary architecture: not to idealise garden neighbourhoods in the suburbs, but to bring greenery and nature into the city; to create open spaces, parks and public gardens that neighbourhood residents and citizens can share.
The theme of “Oxygen” understood as ecology, health, community and sociality is explored in depth by VGA in projects such as the Military Citadel of Cecchignola, the Sports Hall in Lamezia Terme, the Koà Zambon company restaurant or the ZIM Area masterplan in Samara.
Seminars are organized by DDN. Click here for further information about professional training credits.
