Metaverse in architecture: the meeting with Zaha Hadid Architects and LAVA will take place in Rome on November 13, 2023
British firm Zaha Hadid Architects and German firm LAVA – Laboratory for Visionary Architecture are the protagonists of the international conference “Architecture and Metaverse,” which will be held in Rome at the Casa dell’Architettura (Piazza Manfredo Fanti 47) on Monday, November 13, 2023, from 3 to 7 p.m.
The future of architecture in the Metaverse
What will be the future of architecture and the role of the architect in the Metaverse? What will be the challenges and opportunities for designers? Through the speeches of Zaha Hadid Architects and LAVA – Laboratory for Visionary Architecture and some leading experts, “Architecture and Metaverse” aims to foster discussion and create an opportunity for dialogue and professional exchange between the Italian and the international scene.
The initiative, promoted by the Casa dell’Architettura and the Rome Chamber of Architects, is curated by architect Arianna Callocchia with the aim of facing the many questions related to this topic. From the role of artificial intelligence to the importance of sustainability and the social aspects of architecture in the Metaverse.
More and more firms are experimenting with the new frontiers of constructing buildings, spaces and cities in the virtual world. Among the pioneers of design in the Metaverse are British firm Zaha Hadid Architects and German firm LAVA – Laboratory for Visionary Architecture. In Rome, they will present as a preview and exclusively for Italy a selection of some of their most significant projects offering participants the opportunity to experience the virtual world.
Shajay Bhooshan, Associate Director, Zaha Hadid Architects, will illustrate metaverse-related projects developed by ZHA including the virtual city of Liberland and the Metrotopia metaverse for the design community. Christian Tschersich, Associate Partner, LAVA – Laboratory for Visionary Architecture, will present the LAVA WORLD pavilion designed for the first Metaverse Architecture Biennale hosted online on Decentraland and W3rlds.
The meeting, promoted by the Casa dell’Architettura and the Rome Chamber of Architects, is supported by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Italy and the sponsorship of ARAN World Group.
