Bottega Veneta and Flos celebrate the iconic Modello 600 by Gino Sarfatti, blending craftsmanship and innovation in a reinterpretation that shines a light on contemporary design
A partnership between two Italian excellences, Bottega Veneta and Flos, brings to life an extraordinary reinterpretation of the Modello 600 table lamp, designed by Gino Sarfatti in 1966. This iconic object, a blend of design and functionality, returns today in a contemporary guise that celebrates craftsmanship and innovation.
A tribute to Gino Sarfatti, master of lighting
Born in Venice in 1912, Gino Sarfatti left a lasting mark on Italian design with over 600 lamp projects that redefined lighting. Founder of the company Arteluce, later acquired by Flos in 1973, Sarfatti experimented with materials, shapes, and technologies, creating groundbreaking works like the Modello 600. This 1966 lamp stands out for its flexible base, made of lead pellets enclosed in smooth leather, allowing for easy light orientation while blending aesthetics and practicality.
The reinterpretation by Bottega Veneta and Flos
In the new edition of the Modello 600, Bottega Veneta and Flos blend tradition with innovation. The leather base, a distinctive feature of the original design, is reinterpreted using Bottega Veneta’s signature artisanal techniques, Intrecciato and Intrecciato Foulard. The result is an elegant and functional lamp, enhanced with advanced LED technology that preserves the iconic bulb design.
Suitable as both a table and floor lamp, the Modello 600 offers versatile lighting: it can provide direct or indirect light thanks to the adjustable reflector angle. Available in two sizes and a color palette that includes black, grey, red, emerald green, and the iconic Bottega Veneta green, the lamp seamlessly fits into any space, combining precise illumination with comfortable lighting.
