Outdoor comfort and contemporary style in Sanremo: Pratic transforms the Riviera’s panoramic terrace
In the heart of Sanremo, the Hotel Europa Palace completely rewrites the concept of hospitality. A full restoration, completed between 2019 and 2025, transformed the historic 19th-century building on Corso Imperatrice into a refined five-star destination.
The Calvi Ceschia Viganò studio led the intervention. They reinterpreted the hotel’s classic identity with a light and essential language. The true jewel of the structure is the rooftop overlooking the sea. This exclusive space hosts a cocktail bar, a lounge area, and a restaurant open to the public, featuring outdoor comfort by Pratic.
From sun deck to panoramic terrace
The designers converted the large sixth-floor sun deck into a unique panoramic space. It offers guests a breathtaking view of the city and the coast. The surface is divided into two complementary environments. On one side is the indoor area made of steel and glass. On the other is an open-air space with minimal furniture and green plants.
To connect these areas, the studio chose the T-Hide extendable arm awning by Pratic. This solution creates a fluid transition between inside and outside. It protects guests during the hottest hours and allows them to fully enjoy the sea breeze.
Technology and color in perfect harmony
The dealer Domus Point of Sanremo managed the installation of two awnings of different sizes (6.30 and 5.50 x 4 meters). The T-Hide extendable arm awning expands the terrace’s shade thanks to motorized arms and a practical retractable valance.
The aluminum of the box and frame uses the warm grey RAL 7044 shade, matching the hotel’s main structure. Pratic creates this special finish in its low-environmental-impact painting plant, using powders that perfectly resist:
- Constant humidity.
- Marine salt spray.
- Intense UV rays.
Evening atmosphere and new leisure time
Comfort coincides with natural well-being. The T-Hide extendable arm awning integrates a LED lighting system on both the box and the front profile. This double light source enhances the architecture even after sunset. It creates the ideal backdrop for dinners, private events, and exclusive aperitifs.
The panoramic outdoor space of the Hotel Europa Palace breaks the mold of traditional Sanremo hospitality, which is often tied to a retro style. The project defines a new standard for leisure time, where elegance meets maximum functionality.
