The Murano Glass at the Biennale di Venezia: 1932-1942

Educational appointments of significant historical and artistic importance, which not only tell the trends of the masters of excellence

Assia Karaguiozova

Le stanze del vetro in Venice presents a second exhibition throughout the history of Murano Glass, participated at the Biennale di Venezia, curated, as usual, by Marino Barovier. These history-artistic ‘didactic’ appointments with glass, not only feature the characteristics, the moods and the techniques of the Murano Glass Masters in that specific period, but also illustrate the presence of the glass, as precious expression material, at the Biennale: 1932- 1942.

Glass, a precious material as a form of expression

For these ten years, we can notice a frequent presence of not transparent full-coloured glass, with bright and intense colours (in particular, the red one, not easy in production), massive shapes with delicate details. Since April, 13th to November 23th, 2025. Realised by Fondazione Giorgio Cini onlus an Pentagram Stiftung; Marsilio Arte Catalogue
