Morocco Design Debuts in Casablanca: The New Capital of Creativity

From October 5–7, 2026, a citywide cultural platform brings together Moroccan craftsmanship and international furniture brands

Casablanca is preparing to become North Africa’s newest creative capital. From October 5–7, 2026, the city will host the inaugural edition of Morocco Design, a cultural platform that advances, exchanges, and shapes the future of contemporary design in Morocco. The event will gather architects, designers, international design houses, collectors, and cultural leaders for three days of exhibitions, site-specific installations, and private gatherings.

A Citywide Format Across Casablanca

Instead of hosting exhibitions inside a traditional trade fair venue, Morocco Design takes over the entire urban fabric. Showrooms, art galleries, private ateliers, boutique hotels, and landmark architectural sites will host the official program, inviting visitors to experience design within the city’s everyday life.

Casablanca built its reputation on commerce and modern architecture. Today, the city fosters a rapidly expanding community of designers, makers, and creative entrepreneurs. The event highlights this urban energy and positions Casablanca as a major international design destination.

Connecting Global Brands and Local Talent

Moroccan craftsmanship and material culture continuously influence global interior architecture. Morocco Design moves beyond traditional representations of that heritage, showing how a new generation of practitioners reinterprets local culture. The platform creates direct encounters between established global brands and the most compelling local creative voices.

The inaugural edition features global design houses such as Flexform, Roche Bobois, Moroso, Kettal, and Molteni&C. Participating Moroccan designers and studios include Hamza Khadiri, Hicham Lahlou, Samir Mazer, Ali Lahlou, Salima Filali, Studio Sana Benzaitar, Inspiration Design BY, Myroc Studio, Zineb Tazi, Verneo Studio, Sophia Kacimi, and Othmane Bengebara.

A Long-Term Vision for Moroccan Design

The initiative acts as a permanent platform for industry development and cultural exchange. Its primary goal focuses on strengthening connections between Moroccan talent and international collectors, developers, and global press.

The event selected Villa Sahrai as its Official Hospitality Partner. Designed by French architect Christophe Pillet and part of the Design Hotels™ collection, the hotel will host international press and industry leaders throughout the week with a curated series of gatherings.
