Clerkenwell Design Week, held every year in London in May, turns 10 in 2019. Founded 10 years ago as a platform to promote independent design, the 2018 edition welcomed over 34,000 visitors and 300 exhibitors, young designers and brands as well as major international companies, including Cappellini, Kvadrat and Moroso, to name but a few.
New graphics for 10 years of CDW
To celebrate its tenth anniversary, from 21 to 23 May 2019, CDW is launching a new creative campaign, presenting the work of the duo of brothers Cai and Kyn, the designers who created the first ever identity for Clerkenwell Design Week in 2010. In addition, 10 giant, 3-metre-high candles will be scattered throughout the neighborhood, leading like beacons through the paths dotted with showrooms, studios and a number of exhibitions.
CDW Highlights
Among the highlights of Clerkenwell Design Week, CDW Presents is a selection of site-specific installations, which in 2019 are inspired by the rich and sometimes dark historical tales of Clerkenwell. In addition, Lansdown’s London will host some historical tours among clock-makers and gin distillers, to enter even more into the Clerkenwell’s atmoshpere.
The showrooms
From the 40 showrooms of the first edition of 2010, in 2019 there will be more than 100 showrooms involved in the event. These include Arper, Allermuir, Andreu World, Deadgood, Ceramiche Caesar, Flokk, Forbo, Knauf, Mapei, and many more.
