From 25 May to 2 June 2019, Extra, the event dedicated to design and art, will be back in Vercelli for the third time
Extra: Geometrie in bilico, the event organized in collaboration with Federmobili Vercelli, ASCOM and Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Vercelli, was visited by 3,000 people in 2018 during 10 days (click here to discover the 2018 edition). Art and design works will be exhibited also this year at DiQui (former Padiglione 18), the original venue of the event, and at the new venue for 2019, Museo Leone, to dialogue with archaeological finds.
With Antonio De Luca and Marianna Foglia’s artistic coordination, the new works by some designers who took part in the previous editions will be exhibited: Giorgio Biscaro, Gianni Cella, CollettivoMuto, Benedetta Mori Ubaldini.
Among the new entries are illustrator and d
esigner Chiara Rapaccini and artist Fulvia Mendini. The group of artistic excellence includes Foto Marvellini, Stefania Ricci (in collaboration with Pavia Foto Festival), Matteo Tenardi, and the internationally renowned musician Sergio Sorrentino with a permanent sound installation.
The design section will be animated and innovated by the experienced team of furniture makers from Vercelli belonging to Federmobili Vercelli: AD Tappeti, Arredamenti Prella, Bieffe Ceramiche, Borgo Divisione Luce, Giovannini Arredamenti, Mosca Ufficio Stile, Odone Angelo, Raimondo Piero, Rita Spina Design, SGA Ambienti, who will supply furniture and accessories.
Two inaugural evenings are scheduled, one for each location. The first will be held on Friday, May 24 from 6:30 pm at DiQui, the second on Saturday, May 25 from 6:30 pm at Museo Leone.
