IDOL by Slalom wins the 2025 Archiproducts Design Award

Double recognition for Slalom: IDOL also receives the 2025 Sustainability Award, highlighting sustainable and sensory design

IDOL, the acoustic sculpture system by Slalom, has been awarded the 2025 Archiproducts Design Award and the 2025 Sustainability Award, assigned by an international jury of experts in eco-design and sustainable innovation.
The dual recognition underscores the project’s commitment to research, material culture, and the exploration of emotional acoustics.

Art, sound, matter

Designed by Isabella del Grandi, IDOL is a trilogy of sound-absorbing sculptures that push the boundaries of acoustic performance while combining technology with visual poetry. Primitive shapes are reinterpreted as contemporary totems—unexpected geometries suspended in space, where form, silence, and meaning coexist in balance. IDOL transforms acoustic absorption into an artistic gesture, where material becomes language and sound becomes a sensory experience.

Sustainable by design

Each piece is handcrafted in the Slalom atelier and finished with ethical Italian felts and fabrics, selected for their low environmental impact and tactile qualities. The combination of textures, manual detailing, and color research makes IDOL a multisensory experience, blending sustainability, aesthetics, and acoustic comfort.
