Urban Luxury Conquers Tuscany: The New Chapter Chianti Hotel Prepares to Open

Debuting in June 2026, a medieval village is reinterpreted through the lens of contemporary design

Tuscany is preparing to unveil a brand-new face. In June 2026, nestled in the rolling hills just 45 minutes from Florence, the new Chapter Chianti will officially open its doors. Featuring 82 guest rooms, this stunning property comes to life within a beautifully preserved 16th-century medieval estate.

Spanning over 40 hectares of pristine nature, this ambitious project marks the second addition to the Chapter Italia portfolio—a brand developed by entrepreneur Marco Cilia following his acclaimed debut in Rome in 2019. The vision is explicit: to deliver a philosophy of conscious, accessible luxury that steers completely clear of traditional, rustic clichés.

A Design That Challenges Tuscan Countryside Conventions

You won’t find terracotta tiles or heavy antique furniture here. South African designer Tristan Du Plessis (Studio A) has completely flipped hospitality expectations. The interior design of Chapter Chianti seamlessly blends the premium comfort of a grand hotel with the distinct personality of an independent boutique property.

The aesthetic prioritizes clean lines, exposed historic stone, and sculptural lighting installations. Warm wooden flooring meets locally sourced travertine stone, while contemporary furnishings from world-class brands like &Tradition inject a sophisticated urban lifestyle vibe. Art also plays a starring role: the fluid forms of artist Kokekit adorn the spaces, cascading all the way down to decorate the bottom of the panoramic swimming pool.

Fine Dining and Community Wellness: Exclusive Amenities

The estate’s culinary program marries deep-rooted Italian traditions with global, contemporary influences, striking a perfect balance between regional excellence and creativity. Menus highlight wild herbs, edible flowers, and seasonal produce gathered straight from the Tuscan countryside across three vibrant dining spots:

  • Osso: The flagship restaurant inspired by traditional Italian butcher shops, celebrating premium meat dishes with a modern twist.
  • Pool Bar Parasole: Serving light, Mediterranean-inspired dishes under elegant drapes curated by Crema Outdoor.
  • Hey Güey: The group’s iconic Mexican food truck, ideal for enjoying exceptional tacos in a casual, vibrant outdoor atmosphere.

Wellness takes center stage at the F.A.R.M. Social Spa—a 500-square-meter sanctuary carved entirely out of travertine. The space is purposefully engineered to foster social connection, featuring custom saunas, steam rooms, and saltwater pools.

Dynamic Experiences in the Heart of the Region

Life at Chapter Chianti is designed to be active, immersive, and engaging. Guests can explore the surrounding landscape through a variety of curated local activities: horseback riding through historic vineyards, truffle hunting alongside expert local guides, but also sunrise yoga sessions and premium padel courts.

For guests seeking ultimate privacy, the property offers The Mansion—an exclusive private villa boasting five bedrooms, private olive groves, and a dedicated swimming pool. Located in Cavriglia, the resort positions itself as the ultimate destination to rediscover Tuscany from a fresh, cosmopolitan perspective.
