Bonaldo at the Salone del Mobile 2024 with Globalove by Karim Rashid and Cross Lounge Chair by Alain Gilles
On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile 2024, Bonaldo launches two new products: Globalove by Karim Rashid and Cross Lounge Chair by Alain Gilles. Inspired by the idea of purity and reduction of forms to the essential, ideally recalling those of “Mother Earth”, the Globalove armchair, designed by Karim Rashid, stands out for its comfortable, enveloping seat with an original profile.
Resting on the ground, the seat takes on the configuration of a circular band that includes the backrest and houses the cushion. Karim Rashid’s design style also emerges in cover combinations, which can be contrasting and full of character while harmoniously integrating with other furniture elements.
On the other hand, the harmonious juxtaposition of heterogeneous parts of the Cross Lounge Chair, designed by Alain Gilles for Bonaldo, is the result of a balanced and original reinterpretation of the classic 20th-century lounge chair. The fully exposed metal frame plays with the traditional X-shaped base, becoming a graphic statement and an integral part of the chair’s identity.
The padded elements – seat and back – feature unusual and exaggerated proportions, intended to accommodate the user. One of the main features of this armchair is the armrest, designed as a metal tube that, bent at the front of the chair, finishes just before the backrest.
