JKMM Architects and ALA Architects present their architectures for culture, Amos Rex museum and Oodi, the central library of Helsinki, on January 24th, 2019
On Thursday, January 24th, 2019, the headquarters of the Chamber of Architects of the Province of Milan (Via Solferino 17-19) will host the conference “Architecture for culture in Finland” during which the Finnish architects will present the projects for the Amos Rex art museum and Oodi, Helsinki’s new central library.
The event, promoted by Foundation of the Chamber of Architects of the Province of Milan in cooperation with the Embassy of Finland and the ATL – Association of Finnish Architects’ Offices, is curated by architect Arianna Callocchia with the aim of highlighting the role and the importance that Finland, and Helsinki in particular, reserve for cultural buildings. Fulvio Irace from Politecnico di Milano will be the moderator.
Asmo Jaaksi, JKMM Architects, will illustrate the project for Amos Rex, a futuristic cultural hub that, as a dialogue between past and present, offers Helsinki a new public space, a contemporary art museum and a cinema.
Antti Nousjoki, ALA Architects, will present Oodi – Helsinki Central Library. A new library that offers the Finnish capital an additional contemporary space that is versatile and flexible, dedicated to reading, learning and educational activities.
