The collaboration between Paolo Castelli S.p.A and Istituzione Bologna Musei began in Bologna in 2009, during the refurbishment – carried out by Iosa Ghini Associati – of Casa Morandi, the house at Via Fondazza 36, where Giorgio Morandi, one of the most famous Italian painters of the 20th century, lived with his mother and sisters from 1910 to 1964.

Giorgio Morandi has always inspired many artists all over the world, as Roberto Grandi, President of Istituzione Bologna Musei, explains. Some meet him at the outset of their careers, others unexpectedly, at different stages of the artistic creation process.
The collection Oggetti d’Autore. Omaggio a Morandi is the result of the encounter between the painter and Paolo Castelli Spa, which took place at Casa Morandi. An authentic place that still preserves the artist’s experience, his poetic soul and his creative genius. The spaces in the house tell of him, as do the objects and furnishings in his studio.
