MADE expo, the reference exhibition for architecture and the construction industry, returns to Milan from 22 to 25 November 2021
MADE expo, one of the most important trade fairs for architecture and construction, returns to Fiera Milano from 22 to 25 November 2021. For the first time, the event is organized by Made Eventi S. r. l, a company owned by Fiera Milano and Federlegno Arredo Eventi; as usual, it will host the latest innovations in the building sector, which currently counts more than 700,000 companies and more than one million employees. The event, finally back in person, will make it possible to meet and exchange views with industry professionals, participate in talks and seminars that will entitle to training credits, and discover the latest products and projects for architecture and construction.
The 4 thematic areas of the fair
MADE expo 2021 will allow a community of designers, construction and production companies, craftsmen, window and door manufacturers, contractors and buyers to visit the over 300 companies exhibiting at this edition. The exhibition will be divided into 4 big thematic areas. The first, “MADE doors, windows & industrial closures” is addressed to door and window manufacturers, designers, retailers and constructions companies. The second, “MADE building envelope & outdoor”, is dedicated to opaque and transparent roofing and façade systems, glass and sunshades. The “MADE BIM & technologies” area will allow the public to explore the new opportunities related to the use of Building Information Modeling, a system used to optimize the planning, implementation and management of buildings with the help of software. Lastly, the “MADE construction and materials” area will present new materials for innovative, sustainable and safe projects.
The world of construction at MADE expo 2021
“Fieramilano is ready to welcome the entire event network, offering exhibitors and operators a unique experience capable of expanding and highlighting the importance of a professional exhibition,” said Mario Franci, CEO of Made Eventi S.r.l. and Chief Revenue Officer of Fiera Milano S.p.a. “There is a widespread desire to go back to meeting people in person, touching products and systems, and showing up close and in detail all those innovations that the market has not been able to present in the last year and a half. As always, in addition to the product sectors, MADE expo will offer moments of B2B meeting during which the issues of energy sustainability and innovation in the building and construction sector will be looked at. We will also be talking about new business models from the point of view of design and plant engineering. Moreover, thanks to innovative digital services, exhibitors, buyers and visitors will be able to experience the trade show both in a physical format and a digital version.”
The digital version of the fair
Several digital channels will allow people to connect remotely and watch the live-streamed events. Among them, there will be the new event App, and other tools such as My Matching, Webinars & Live Chats, and the Exhibition Blog will enable the connection between real and virtual worlds.

Not-to-be-missed events and training credits
MADE expo will offer a calendar including more than 100 events, which are validated for the earning of training credits. Each event belonging to ArchInTrend, Forum Legno Edilizia, The place to build and SerramenTalk will show the latest trends emerging from the related sectors.
Among the themes to be discussed, the quality of living will doubtlessly play a key role. During the health emergency, houses have taken on new value, living comfort has become an essential requirement and state bonuses have made large redevelopment and renovation works more affordable. Therefore, there will be in-depth discussion dedicated to the “110% Superbonus”. In Italy, over 46,000 building projects linked to this incentive have been recorded, for a value of €7.5bn. Lombardy is the region that has benefited the most from it, with more than 6,000 projects for a value of €1.12 bn.
MADE expo: an event that looks ahead
The key themes of the next edition of MADE expo look not only at current events but also at the future, with contents and proposals in line with the evolution of the construction world, designed to guide professionals and companies to new and sustainable scenarios.
ICE, the Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies, is working alongside MADE expo to promote the event abroad and help companies present their product innovations internationally. MADE expo 2021 will also be an opportunity to rethink the construction sector in a sustainable key, both in terms of materials and processes.

Some numbers from the sustainable construction industry
Globally, sustainable construction is expected to reach a value of $187.4bn by 2027. This trend has also been confirmed by the World Green Building Council, according to which infrastructures and buildings will aim to reduce carbon emissions by 40% by 2030, and 100% by 2050. “The future of construction has a common thread that runs through different sectors in every dimension and individual type,” explained Regina De Albertis, president of Assimpredil Ance.
“For us, looking at sustainability means putting the right value on doing business. This means keeping three fundamental pillars in mind at the same time: the social aspect, so that construction is the leading player in the creation of genuinely human communities; the ecological approach, because the eco system in which we operate must be protected and respected; and finally, the economic element because, in addition to countering the climate emergency, this wave of regeneration will benefit companies.”
