The international fair dedicated to 21st-century collectible design, COLLECTIBLE, returns to Brussels from March 7 to 10, 2024
COLLECTIBLE, the international fair dedicated to collectible design, returns to the Vanderborght Building, Brussels, from March 7 to 10, 2024. Now in its seventh edition, the fair is ready to showcase a refined selection of premieres, forward-thinking unique pieces, and limited editions presented by galleries and designers from all over the world.
COLLECTIBLE: the sections of the fair
At the core of COLLECTIBLE, the MAIN and BESPOKE sections welcome participation respectively from international galleries and independent design studios. The NEW GARDE section features projects by new galleries and emerging collectives. On the other hand, ARCHITECT DESIGNER offers a dedicated platform for architects and interior designers to showcase recently developed furniture design projects, while DIALOGUE invites galleries to exhibit works from the ’80s and ’90s in conversation with contemporary pieces.
The CURATED section, curated by Rawad Baaklini, serves as a space for radical experimentation and discovery in design. Here, participants – emerging and mid-career independent designers and design studios – are invited to explore pioneering ideas and processes. Around the curatorial statement ‘A Public Display of Affection’, galleries are invited to explore how design objects can stimulate displays of affection between people, who are too often blocked by incommunicability. This year there will be an OUTDOOR section as well, curated by Bas Smets.
Lastly, COLLECTIBLE is also opening its first permanent space, coinciding with the event. Located in the heart of Brussels’ art district on rue Saint-Georges, this new destination will offer bespoke advice, and host exhibitions and private dinners, reflecting the fair’s longstanding commitment to innovation and excellence in the field of contemporary design.
