Designtech brings technology to the Salone del Mobile 2023 and participates in the Fuorisalone with a program packed with events in the Certosa District
Designtech, the first innovation platform to bring the world of technology and design closer together, is preparing to bring technology to the Salone del Mobile 2023 and participate in the Fuorisalone with a program packed with not-to-be-missed events and initiatives.
Innovation and technology at the Salone del Mobile 2023
For the first time, the Salone del Mobile is opening up to the world of startups, with an area entirely managed by Designtech, featuring the best Italian and international startups in the fields of furniture and biotech, IoT, AI, Blockchain, 3D printing and augmented reality technologies.
At the Salone del Mobile 2023, Designtech will present companies such as Krill Design, an Italian company specializing in the development of 100% sustainable products; SuperIo, a Japanese startup specializing in the virtualization of showrooms to bring customers and brands closer together in the cloud; Kindof, an Italian company that reuses ribbed steel rods to make creative furniture elements; Hi-Interiors, which will present its luxury smart bed collection at the Salone, in the area of smart furniture. And, among many others, MyLime, a flexible and modular blockchain platform that operates with a whole supply chain verification system.
Where you can find Designtech
Designtech will be in Pavilion 18 (Stands E16, E18, D15 and D17). The new exhibition setting, designed by Studio Volpi, also includes a holographic stage, produced by technical partner Naumachia, which will host daily talks and presentations of various kinds. In particular, the topics to be discussed during the talks will be design, sustainability, digital technology, urban regeneration, smart city and smart mobility. Moreover, it will be possible to watch each talk live-streamed and recorded on all the company’s social media channels thanks to the Designtech Live project. During the fair, Federated Innovation @MIND will present the new Design, Fashion and Culture Tech themed area promoted by Designtech and Icona Design Group. During Design Week, Designtech will also launch Designtech Podcast, the first podcast entirely dedicated to technological innovation in the design industry.

The Fuorisalone in the Certosa District
Designtech doubles its presence at Milan Design Week by extending the Salone del Mobile experience to the emerging Certosa District, the new district promoted by real estate development company RealStep.
The articulated Fuorisalone program will involve several venues such as C-Space, tech lounge, from which Designtech’s Podcast will start, and the innovative Co-Factory, which is at an advanced stage of construction and is the nerve center of the district. Co-Factory, scheduled to open in September, will open its construction site to the public and host a series of events and installations. La Cattedrale will be the beating heart of the Certosa District, hosting Designtech’s “Innovation for Living”, with exhibition design by Pininfarina Architecture. The project will show, for the first time in Italy, the new Microlino, a small combination of smart mobility design and innovation.

From April 18 to 22, Certosa District will host events, talks and artistic performances from 5 p.m.; aperitifs with lounge music from 6:30 p.m. and clubbing evenings with electronic dance, animated by the best Milanese crews from 8 p.m.
Moreover, Designtech’s Fuorisalone circuit will be directly connected from the Certosa District to the Isola Design Festival, thanks to the totally sustainable car shuttle service guaranteed by mobility partner Koelliker.
