Creative Bridges and Global Business: The Triumph of The Italian Lounge at CIFF Guangzhou 2026

An evolving platform seamlessly blending Italian interior design excellence, commercial strategies, and global networking in the heart of Asia

The debut of The Italian Lounge at CIFF Guangzhou 2026 (which took place from March 18 to 21) marked a major milestone for the promotion of Italian design in Asia. As the world’s largest furniture fair and Asia’s premier business platform for interior design, the event served as the perfect stage for an ambitious project that has evolved from a simple exhibition space into a strategic global platform.

Conceived and organized by Edimotion, with the organizational support of CIFF Guangzhou, the project confirmed its role as an experiential ecosystem. It established itself as a privileged meeting point where companies, institutions, designers, and buyers from China and the international scene could forge commercial relationships and engage in cross-cultural dialogue.

A Multisensory Landscape by Davide Pavanello Lab and Vudafieri Saverino Partners

The physical space of The Italian Lounge was envisioned by Davide Pavanello Lab as a captivating, multisensory landscape. Here, design met nature, transforming the visit into a fully immersive experience. Within this curated environment, products were not merely displayed but woven into a narrative designed to elevate brand identity and showcase the manufacturing excellence of Made in Italy.

Ensuring a seamless cultural fusion between West and East was the artistic direction of Vudafieri Saverino Partners, solidifying the Lounge as a strong creative and aesthetic bridge between Italy and China.

Education and Global Vision: The Forums of The Italian Lounge

The project went beyond visual business by offering top-tier cultural and market insights. Under the prestigious patronage of the Politecnico di Milano – School of Design, the program of talks and forums was coordinated by Professor Francesco Scullica.

The panels tackled pressing topics in the global market through two crucial events:

  • Design & Business Outlook — International Perspectives: Organized by CIFF and Edimotion with a valuable contribution from CSIL. This focus session analyzed the economic and design trends reshaping the future of indoor and outdoor spaces.
  • Why the Middle East Matters: Realized in collaboration with Construction Week Middle East (ITP Media Group, Dubai). This debate opened doors to real commercial opportunities for furniture and design suppliers in the Middle Eastern market.

The format will return in an expanded and further evolved version for the 58th edition of CIFF Shanghai, scheduled to take place from September 5 to 8, 2026.
